Old Parkland Hospital
A Classical Revival and Georgian style complex of hospital buildings with construction beginning in 1913 on the grounds of the City's second city park. It is one of the oldest remaining public hospital complexes in Texas and represents a significant landscape feature, a large grove of mature post oaks, in an increasingly dense urban setting.
During its nearly 90 years, the historic "old Parkland Hospital" in Oak Lawn -- now called Woodlawn Hospital -- has served variously as a general hospital, a psychiatric institution, a jail and a makeshift homeless shelter.
There has been alot of talk about this building being renovated, or even demolished. I will continue to look into this location...
